As many as 715 of the 3,182 applicants who attended a private job fair held in Kallakurichi on Saturday secured jobs.
Organized by Kallakurichi District Administration, District Employment and Guidance Cell and Tamil Nadu State Rural and Urban Livelihood Mission, the fair saw more than 100 companies recruiting candidates. Candidates who have studied up to 8th, 10th or 12th diploma, ITI courses, hotel management, bachelor’s and engineering courses participated.
Out of the total number of participants, 23 were disabled and nine of them got a job.
A total of 1,934 men and 1,248 women participated in the job fair, and 715 secured employment. Kallakurichi Collector MS Prasanth handed over the appointment letters to the candidates who got the jobs.
