Approximately 60 lakh hectares of agricultural land were influenced by heavy rains and floods, said Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday, adding that the state government turned to the center and was looking for a relief package.
CM added that the final policy of the auxiliary relief will be announced after the next meeting of the cabinet. Mr. Fadnavis, who rejected the opposition requirement of a “wet drought” statement in the mahara, said that such a deadline does not officially exist.
“The assessment of the damage will be made in the next few days. Until then, the state will provide assistance and pays funds before Deepavali. The amount obtained from the center will be used as a reimbursement,” he said.
Regarding the pressure of Maha Vikas Aghadi on the announcement of wet drought, the Minister of Agriculture Dattatray Bharne noted: “What is the difference, whether you call it drought or wet drought?
The leader of the NCP (SP) Supriya Sule demanded farmers quick and complete surrender of the loan. Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar accused the government of delaying the proposal to help the center.
The state government turned to the relief package and will soon be sent a detailed proposal, the official in the office of the main minister said.
