According to official sources, a total of more than 5,000 government, quasi-government offices and units of the public sector in Ernaclul have been awarded a “A+/A” degree based on the Green Rate issued by the Harith Ceralama mission (HKM).
The performance was evaluated on the basis of an evaluation form prepared by HKM, which included parameters such as solid waste management, cleanliness, disposal of electronic waste and adherence to the green protocol. The project was part of the campaign “Free Nava Keralam” of the government.
Of the 5,152 government, quasi-government offices and units of the public sector, which were included in the narrower selection for green evaluation, this status reached 5,044 according to the latest estimates. They include offices of various government authorities, local bodies, banks and units of the public sector.
In addition to key evaluation criteria, other factors such as water and energy and rain water collection projects were considered in the sorting process. The institutions have set up separate magazines for collecting plastic, paper and organic waste. They also made sessions and workshops awareness of the spread of the message of adherence to the provisions according to the green protocol of the prescribed mission.
The institutions were encouraged to delay the use of prohibited plastic products and install systems for the disposal of organic waste and liquid waste. They were also instructed to have clean toilets and ensure the availability of clean water.
The mission emphasized the need to stick to the green codes of behavior that focused on the reduction of waste, separation of sources and the use of environmental alternatives. The institutions were also evaluated on the basis of maintenance of premises and steps taken to maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including public spaces and hygiene facilities.
