More than 3,800 candidates apply for NEET-UG 2026 re-examination in Puducherry

A total of 3,806 of the registered 4,324 MBBS aspirants on Sunday cleared the NEET-UG 2026 examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at various examination centers across the Union Territory. Elaborate measures have been introduced at nine centers in Puducherry.
The re-test, which was held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, was conducted amid tight security, with the district administration putting in place elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth and glitch-free conduct of the examination. In each NEET centre, several rooms have been reserved for the candidates and a group of invigilators assigned to each hall to supervise the exercise.
Yashwant, a NEET aspirant from Puducherry, recovering from a road accident, appeared for the re-examination despite injuries on his arms and legs. The student arrived in a wheelchair at the examination center at Bharathidasan Government College for Women and passed the examination.
In Cuddalore district, a total of 3,596 out of 4,749 registered candidates appeared for the examination, 1,153 candidates remained absent.
