
At least 2,000 alleged illegal Bangladeshi immigrants were “promoted” across the borders of the Indian authorities since the Sindoor Operation in the early morning hours of May 7.
According to an Indian Express report, the event was subjected to an event after a nationwide verification exercise along the Bangladeshi border in Tripura, Meghalaya and Assam.

The event began along the border in Gujarat, which represents half of the illegal immigrants sent back to their country, reports in the report of citation of officials. Process
After political changes in Bangladesh in August 2024, on the instructions of MHA, states began to intervene about the illegal stay of foreigners in the country. The Ministry of the External Affairs (Mea) 22nd May said that India had asked Bangladesh to verify the nationality of 2,369 “illegal migrants” to be deported. Mea said some cases have been waiting for more than five years.
The report said that these illegal immigrants are first transported to the borders from the IAF states where the border security force is handed over. They are then held in makeshift camps on the border where they are provided with food and, if necessary, a Bangladeshi currency, before they are sent back to their country, the report said.
“Given the reports of the procedure, many illegal immigrants from Bangladesh voluntarily leave the country for fear of being detained,” the official said.
SINDOOR OPERATION
India performed accurate strikes under the Sindoor operation on nine terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Kashmir occupied by Pakistan, on May 7 in response to the terrorist attack of Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Previously, Assam, Chief Minister of Histant Bisw Sarma told reporters that India had accepted a new “push” strategy to deal with Bangladesh infiltration.
