
Vigilance Sleuths in Odisha On Friday (May 30, 2025), over 2 Crore in cash and valuable assets from the possession of a government engineer, who are expected to be disproportionate to his income, officials said.
There is an operation of searches in Residence and Office of the Engineer.
“The anti -corruption wing of the Odisha police attacked the residences and Baikuntha Nath Sarangi, the chief engineer, planning roads, RW, Odisha, Bhubaneswar,” the statement said.
Approximately 1 Crore 1 in cash was obtained from his apartment Bhubaneswar and in Sarangi’s residence in Angulu was found crore £ 1.1 pounds, one of the officials said.
“When Sarangi saw the alert officers, he threw cash bundles in the title of 500 GBP through the window of his apartment in Bhubaneswar. Cash was obtained in the presence of witnesses,” another official said.
He was accused of ownership of assets disproportionate to his income.
Current raids are carried out because the orders for the inspection were issued by special judges, vigilance, Angul.
The Vigilance team locates a two -storey residential house in Karadagadia, Angul and Flats in Bhubaneswar and Sula, Pipili in the Puri district, the official said.
The houses of ancestors and relatives of Sarangi and relatives in the Angul district were also searched. Its office chamber, located at the head engineer, RD Planning and Road, Bhubaneswar, is also attacked.
