Since the school will reopen 2 June, the recent inspection of regional transport officials (RTO) in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai found more than 150 school vehicles, including vans and buses, unsuitable for students’ problems.
RTO officials said that about 2,980 school vehicles for the transport of school students were currently registered in these districts. The annual evaluation, which began a few days ago, is carried out by the Committee at the level of the school safety, which includes a division officer (RDO), representative of SP, district educational official (DEO) and regional transport officer (RTO).
The entire exercise should be completed by May 23rd to allow an ineligible vehicle to make repairs and prepare before the re -opening of schools 2. June. “We regularly monitor all school vehicles by maintaining a separate fit register and unfit vehicles. As a double cross control, we also verify the documents of vehicles on campuses, before re -opening the school,” K. Shivakumar, RTO (Arani), said Hinduivis.

Officials stated that the introduction of front and rear cameras in all school vehicles from this academic year was also the main initiative to ensure the safety of students.
Together with transport officials, they must check 21 other safety parameters, including the height of the legs, the strength of the floor, the fire extinguisher, the first aid set, the speed governor, the driver’s cab, the seats, the bags for bags, windows, windows and emergency output. Transport officials put on buses that have passed the inspection, insert the “OK” stickers. The deadline for incapable vehicles to obtain the check -in is on 31 May or earlier.
Officials stated that the tightening of the rules became the norm after passing the Tamil Nadu motor vehicles (regulation and inspection of school buses), 2012, which orders officials to check school vehicles each year.
