More than 1.26 lakh have received medical assistance in Prakasam district

Over 1.26 lakh beneficiaries received medical assistance worth over ₹ 292 crore under the leadership of Ayushman Bharat and Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva through 97 empaneled hospitals in Prakasam district since the formation of the coalition government in the state, officials told Twenty Point Program Implementation (Viksit Dharat Bharat) Chairman S.

Mr. Dinakar along with the Joint Collector held a comprehensive review meeting at the Collectorate in Ongola on Tuesday. During the meeting, the representatives of the concerned departments elaborated on the implementation of programs related to Healthcare, Education, VB-G RAM G, AMRUT 1.0, AMRUT 2.0, Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM.

Officials informed that a total of 25,735 pregnancies were registered during 2025-26, of which 6,205 were identified as high-risk and provided specialized care. Constitutional births in the district reached 100%, 22,668 births took place in medical facilities.

Mr. Dinakar also emphasized that quality education is the foundation of human resource development and the key pillar of Swarna Andhra. He noted that the dropout rate has reduced due to programs like Talliki Vandanam and Dokka Seethamma Mid-Day Meal program while infrastructure in schools is being upgraded through PM SHRI and Mana Badi – Mana Bhavishyathu.

Officials said the district has 1,980 government schools and 87 colleges with a total enrollment of 1.86 lakh students. After the coalition government was formed, 619 teachers were recruited through DSC in the erstwhile Prakasam district, they informed.

Meanwhile, while evaluating the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Mr. Dinakar noted that the large-scale distribution of textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, school bags, shoes and teaching materials has significantly boosted educational outcomes.

He also reviewed the implementation of PM SHRI schools, in which quality infrastructure, safe drinking water, hygiene facilities, furniture and educational environment are being improved. He announced that surprise inspections would soon take place to assess the quality and performance of schools.
