At least 30 people were injured and three in a critical state after the vehicle hit the crowd on Saturday and waited for the night club to enter the busy boulevard in Los Angeles.
According to the AP report, which quoted Captain Adam Van Gerpen, a public information official for the fire brigade in Los Angeles, the victims were transported to local hospitals and traumatic centers. In its statement, the fire brigade said the incident occurred along Santa Monica Boulevard in Eastern Hollywood.
Van Gerpen said ABC that many people – the majority of women – waited for the night club to enter when they were hit by a vehicle that also hit the Taco truck and a chamber stand.
A firearm found on one patient
Rescuers found that one of the patients had a firearm, Van Gerpen said. “That’s under police investigation,” he said. “It will be a great investigation with LAPD.”
The authorities did not provide any immediate details of the cause of the incident or the driver’s identity, Reuters report.
People inside the club came to help in minutes before the emergency crew arrived, he said to help the victims.
“Everyone stood in the queue when they went to the night club. There was a taco cart, so they were … got some food, they waited for it. And there is also a chamber line,” he said. “The podium for the chamber stage was discarded, the Taco truck was eliminated and the vehicle was affected by a large number of people.”
Kin is waiting for reports of injured family members
The phone report remaining with the club, Vermont Hollywood, was not immediately returned. The club hosted the event reggae/hip hop from 22:00 to 2:00 (local time), according to its online calendar, said report AP.
Francisco Mendez arrived on the scene half an hour after the incident after hearing that his sister -in -law and her husband were injured.
When the car drove into the crowd, the couple worked on a roll stand in front of the club, Mendez said.
“Both were hit and are now hospitalized,” Mendez said.
