Monsoon Watch Highlights: IMD predicts thunderstorm in 11 districts of Telangana
West Bengal | Active monsoon will bring heavy rain in sub-Himalayan region of Bengal, says IMD
An active southwest monsoon over sub-Himalayan West Bengal will bring heavy rain to the region during the next week, the IMD said today.
Thunderstorms are likely over the southern districts of the state, where the monsoon has also advanced, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The weather is set to turn cooler in Kolkata, making life a little easier for residents of the metropolis after high temperatures during the day along with high humidity made life miserable.
While sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar are likely to experience downpour next week, very heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places on June 16 and 17, 2026, the IMD said.
