The southwestern monsoon, which slipped into a quiet phase after the intense magic of opening in the last week of May, will prepare over Kerala with the expected strengthening of Westerlies above the Arab Sea this week.
The cyclonic circulation is probably on Wednesday on the western-central Gulf of Bengal, on the coast of Andhra Pradesh and this weekend is likely to appear another cyclonic circulation. These two systems are expected to strengthen the wind over Kerala and Lakshadweep and revive the monsoon, which remained subdued for more than a week after the robust onset.
According to the weather bolder issued by the Indian meteorological department (IMD), strong Westerlies or North-Westerlies are likely to prevail over the Keral and Lakshadweep area at lower tropospheric levels from June 12.
This will probably cause fresh wave of monsoon rains above the state. On Tuesday, a yellow warning of Pathanamthita, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Thrissur warned, warned against the isolated heavy rain. Then the next round of intense spells would follow in the coming days. Orange alerts, warning of very heavy rain, 12 and 13 June were issued for various districts in Kerala.
