
Officials in the districts of Nandyal and Kurnool were ordered to remain on the emergency room to face any eventuality with regard to the prognosis of the rain issued by the Met State and the Rayalaseem region.
With constant rains in the Nandyal district, the Minister of Roads and BC buildings, Janardhan Reddy ordered officials to stay on and remain available 24×7 to devote themselves to any complaints or emergency situations. The Minister asked agriculture and horticulture officials to warn farmers of potential damage to crops and take preventive measures to prevent damage.
Mr. Reddy asked the Electricity Department to immediately restore the power supply and capture repair work if the electric poles fall due to wind or wire unloading. Roads and buildings officials were ordered to clean up the uprooted trees to avoid disturbing traffic and public transport.
The Minister recommended people to stay inside and go only in the event of an emergency situation. Furthermore, people living in low -laid areas were recommended to move to safer places and officials were instructed to take steps to prevent people from traveling on weak culverts, bridges and vulnerable roads.
Police Superintendent ADHiraj Singh Rana asked police officials and people to take preliminary measures during strong winds and rains. He asked people to avoid staying in dilapidated buildings and did not take them under the trees or poles during the strong wind. He asked the police to maintain vigilia at Culverts, channels and other overflowing water units.
In Kurnool there was a warning with a release of 90,000 CUSECS water from the Tungabhadra dam on Monday. The district collector P. Ranjith Basha examined this situation and asked officials to be on the emergency room because the tide to Sunkesula reservoir is expected to be on Tuesday morning (August 19, 2025).
The collector said the water had reached Meliganur in Kautalam Mandal and ordered officials of income and irrigation to follow the situation and to draw attention to the villagers in a flood situation.
Meanwhile, the Srisailam Dam officials raised three more gates with heavy tributaries from the areas upstream on Monday (August 18, 2025). On Monday, 10 out of a total of 12 gates and 3.04 Lakh Cusecs with water were released downstream.
