Chenab Rail Bridge: Engineering Miracle
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Chenab bridge last week. It is the highest railway bridge in the world.
Architectural Marvel, Chenab Rail Bridge, is 359 meters above the river. It is a 1,315 meters long steel arch bridge created to withstand seismic and wind conditions. The bridge will increase the connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar. For the first time in history, the Kashmir Valley will officially connect with the rest of India through the railway.
Vande Bharat Express Train, which moves on the bridge, takes about three hours of traveling between Katra and Srinagar, reducing the current travel time by two to three hours.
On Friday, PM Modi called two Vande Bharat Express trains from Katra station and directly connected the division of Jammu with Kashmir.
This means the main milestone in the railway connectivity of Jammu and Kashmir.

Usbrl 272 km project, which includes 36 tunnels (spanning 119 km) and 943 bridges, was built with estimated estimated £43 780 crore.
