Australia included the spinner of the left arm of Sophie Molineux to their 15-play group for the ODI World Championship in India and Sri Lanka, with a 26-year course that returned from the knee surgery in time to the tournament.
Molineux, which has been postponed since the end of last year, is still undergoing rehabilitation and may miss the one -day warm -up series against India. However, the Physio Kate Beerworth team expressed confidence in its progress. “Sophie Molineux proceeds well when returning from the knee injury and we expect it to be available for the World Championship,” she said.
The colleague Spinner Georgia Wareham also returns when he recovered from ADUctor injury, which forced her to shorten her campaign in hundreds. The couple is a key part of the Australian attack on Spin, and it is expected that the subcontinent will play a decisive role, because the ruling champions are trying to defend the crown they raised in New Zealand in 2022.
Captain Alyssa Healy, who recently overcame his leg injury during last year’s ash, will lead the party. Over the past month, it underlined its form with a blister undefeated 137 out of 85 balls against India.
Squad has no major surprises. Grace Harris took the last place of launching, while the young versatile Georgia Voll is rewarded with the World Cup callers after her breakthrough year. She joined Molineux, Wareham, Phoebe Litchfield and Kim Garth as the first selection for the 50 World Championship.
The National Selector Shawn Flegler said the group is well equipped to meet the challenges of Indian conditions. “The World Cup in India is one of the biggest cricket tasks, but we believe that this group is at a challenge. The experience gained from recent tours of subcontinent and exposure through the women’s Premier League will be invaluable,” he said.
The unstopped duo Nicole Faltum and Charli Knott will be complemented by the ODI three -way series against India before returning home at the beginning of the WNCl season.
Australia will start a campaign against New Zealand in Indore 1 October.
