LUCKNOW: Lucknow Super Giants left-arm spinner Mohsin Khan, who returned to the IPL after 14-15 months of injury rehabilitation, said he might return because of the inspiration of his mother, who died two months ago.“The long injury lay-off made me doubt myself, but my mother encouraged me throughout my recovery. When I was not available for competitive cricket and after surgery during my rehabilitation, many times I had negative thoughts,” he said.

But my mother always supported me and told me I would play again,” he said.“My mother’s dream was to see me play IPL and competitive cricket again. I was in the LSG camp and came back from Bengaluru and she died on the same day,” said Mohsin.He said he was close to his mother and often spoke to her on the phones.“I was traumatized after her death. I didn’t exercise for a month,” he said.Mohsin admitted that LSG retained him despite his injuries.

He thanked LSG physio Vaibhav Daga, coach Soham and bowling coach Bharat Arun for helping him regain his fitness and rhythm.“I also practiced with pacer Mohammed Shami at his farm in Amroha. He has arranged a good gym and a pitch at his farm. We discussed the nuances of bowling and told me about all the shortcomings,” explained Mohsin.
