Mohsin Khan has put in an outstanding performance in IPL 2026 and won high praise from Justin Langer, who believes the left-arm paceman is not far from breaking into the Indian team. The Lucknow Super Giants bowler shone with the ball against Kolkata Knight Riders, though the match eventually went away for LSG.
After the game where Mohsin took five wickets, Langer talked about the pacer’s growth and potential. In the postgame press conference, he highlighted Mohsin’s athleticism and work ethic as key reasons for his rise.
LSG vs KKR: MAIN | SCORECARD
“Yes, I said a few days ago that I thought he and Prince would be playing cricket for India soon. And the thing about Mohsin Khan is that he’s an incredible athlete. Watch him. You know a great athlete by the way he bowls and you watch Mohsin – an incredible bowler. And then he hits this incredible length to hit his second over, right? It’s a very simple game. We’ve always known that about him, but his it’s an incredible honor to keep him fit, strong and healthy,” Langer said.
Langer also praised Mohsin’s efforts and dedication off the pitch, pointing to the work he has put in to return to top form.
“He’s done a great job with Bharat Arun. A lot of people don’t know that before that he spent a few months at Bharat’s academy in Chennai, where he did it all on his own back. He’s been working hard and getting fit. That’s why he was so disappointed when he injured his quad after the first game, because we can see how big and valuable he had last season.” excitement to have him in the team and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a lot of excitement for India to have him in the team in the not-too-distant future,” he added.
The praise came after Mohsin produced one of the most impressive spells of the season, underscoring his growing importance to the LSG set-up.
HOW GOOD WAS MOHSIN NAQVI IN LSG vs KKR?
Mohsin was at his destructive best against KKR and finished with figures of 4-1-23-5, the first five-wicket haul of IPL 2026. He broke through the top order early as KKR struggled to 31 for 3 in the over and later reduced them to 73 for 6.
He started with a maiden wicket, struck again in the power over and continued to pick wickets at regular intervals. His spell included the crucial dismissal of Cameron Green, who was trying to rebuild the innings, and Anukul Roy, who completed his five-for.
KKR never quite recovered from the early strikes, with Mohsin dictating the conditions in the first half of the innings. His ability to hit a consistent length and extract movement made life difficult for the batsmen.
Despite his brilliance, the game later took a dramatic turn as KKR managed to take the contest into the Super Over and eventually secure victory. Even so, Mohsin’s performance stood out as the defining individual effort of the match.
The positive was clear for LSG. With Mohsin back fit and firing, they have acquired a key weapon in their bowling attack as they prepare for their next match against Mumbai Indians.
