
Senior Fast Bowler Mohammed Shami rejected speculation about his retirement from the test cricket before the highly anticipated Indian tour of England. The 34 -year -old man reaffirmed his commitment to the National Party in front of the versatile series of five tests that begins 20 June.
The selection of the England Tour team, which refers to the beginning of the new Indian cycle of the Test World Championship, has created a significant buzz in recent days. Retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat kohli from the longest format added only to the intrigue around the announcement, which is Is expected in the third May.
The media report proposed that Muhammed Shami could follow Rohit and Kohli retire, and claimed that the head of the selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, was reluctant to include a quick bowler in the team for the upcoming series.
Shami, however, strongly refuted the demands in the Instagram post and rejected speculation as unfounded. Pacer has not played tests for India since the World Cup final in 2023.
Indeed, Shami’s form raised some concerns before the selection. In IPL 2025 he appeared from the rhythm and managed only six goals at nine matches at an economic rate exceeding 11 runs for another for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Pacer tried to regain the top of the fitness after spending more than a year on the ankle injury.
