Mohammad Nawaz scripted history under Sharjah lights on Saturday evening and released a charm that will be etched in the Pakistan folklore T20i. The spinner of his left shoulder became the first Pakistani spinner to claim a hat-trick in the men’s T20is, organized a spectacular collapse of Afghanistan and seized the commanding 75 victory for Pakistan in the final of the T20i Tri-series.
Build a modest goal 142 after a scratched launcher, Pakistan needed premature breakthroughs to lean the game. Nawaz replied to this style. He introduced himself in medium breaks and passed the Afghan order of batting with a dazzling manifestation of flight, accuracy and guilt.

His victims included Ibrahim Nadran (stump), Darwish Rasool (LBW) and Azmatullah Omarzai (caught) from consecutive vans and send shock waves through Sharjah’s crowd. Soon thereafter, Karim Janat was imprisoned and released Rashid Khan and ended up with the best career characters 5 for 19 in 4 overs.
Hat-Trik made Nawaz fifth overall Pakistani to achieve performance in T20is after Asmavia iqbal, Faheem Ashraf, Sana Mir and Mohammad Hasnain. Even more importantly, Afghanistan reduced to its second lowest T20i-66 all in just 15.5 overs. Only Rashid Khan (17 out of 18) offered any resistance before he became the victim of Nawaze himself.
Previously, Pakistani batting fought against the Afghan spade. Rashid Khan’s 3 for 38 and Noor Ahmad’s 2 for 17 caused Pakistan under pressure. Contributions from Fakhar Zaman (27), Salman Agha (24) and Mohammad Nawaze (25 out of 21) helped them limp at 141 for 8 – a total that looked under par in the middle.
Nawaz’s brilliance, supported by tight spells by Abra Ahmed (2 for 17) and Sufiyan Muqeem (2 for 9), ensured that Pakistan strongly prevented a modest score. Afghanistan composed 75 short runs and handed over Pakistan trophy and a moral triumph in front of the Asian Cup.
