Mohammad Amir has again predicted against India, this time saying that India will not win the T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad on Sunday and that New Zealand will lift the trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Earlier, Amir predicted that India would fail to reach the semi-finals and later that they would not reach the final.
Both of his previous predictions proved wrong as India defeated West Indies in the Super 8 and then overcame England in the semi-finals to book their place in the final. Amir said the Black Caps have the upper hand in bowling and fielding and predicted the Kiwis will make the Men in Blue work hard for their win.

“I don’t think it will be like the Mumbai pitch; Ahmedabad offers pace and bounce. New Zealand will test India for a long time. Either team can win, but the fact that both are in the final is huge. Overall, in terms of bowling and fielding, I think New Zealand have the edge,” Amir said on his YouTube channel.
NEW ZEALAND CAN KEEP UP INDIA
Amir said India benefited against England after Harry Brook and Tom Banton dropped the catches of Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya. He added that if New Zealand can avoid the mistakes England made, they have the potential to beat India.
“In the last match, dropped catches made the difference – Harry Brook dropped Sanju Samson and Pandya’s catch was also dropped. These could have been game-winning catches. If New Zealand avoids the mistakes England made, I believe they will beat India,” added Amir.
India won all their matches in the group stage before losing by 76 runs to South Africa in their first Super 8 match. They revived their campaign with a win over Zimbabwe, followed by victories against the West Indies and England. Suryakumar Yadav’s men will now aim to become the first team to successfully defend the Men’s T20 World Cup and the first team to win the title on home soil.
