Member of the CPI (M) BV Raghavulu claimed that the Prime Minister Narendry Modi’s government represents a greater danger to democracy and secularism than an emergency that was stored five ten years ago.
Raghavulu on Tuesday addressed the media in Vijayawada and said that the current political climate reflected the “unexplored emergency” where the suffocating disagreement was suppressed and foreign policy was powered by external influence, especially the United States.
CPI (m) would start a campaign on public education about authoritarianism, especially if the 25th June was marked 50 years since the declaration of emergency in 1975.
“We must remember that CPI (M) and other parties fought against teeth and nails against the emergency situation. Today the threat is even more insidious and requires unified resistance,” he said.
Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Mr. Raghavulu claimed that the Modi government encouraged war hysteria instead of looking for a peaceful, democratic solution of terrorism and international tension.
“The center holds the facts from the public. It is silent on the claims of US President Donald Trump that he has mediated between India and Pakistan to prevent war,” he said, adding that the center did not force a special parliamentary session to develop facts. The central government became subordinate to Mr. Trump, claiming.
Israeli attack on Iran
In the attack of Israel on Iran, Mr. Raghavulu criticized the “muted reaction” of Modi’s government. “Despite deep economic ties in India with Iran, including oil imports and the construction of the port, our government refuses to condemn Israeli. Instead, it supports them. This is morally and strategically unhoitable,” CPI leader (M) said.
“All democratic forces should join to protect secularism, federalism and constitutional values from the developing fascist forces in the robe of administration,” he added.
The leaders of CPI (M) U. Vasuki and a member of the State Secretariat Y. Venkateswara Rao were present.
