
During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attended by the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro 6 and 7 July, followed by a state visit for which he will travel to Brasilia.
It will be the first bilateral visit to the country of the Indian government in almost six decades. BRICS, consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has been expanded with five other members: Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Sae.
In his statement on the departure of PM Modi, he stated that as a founding member of BRICS, India is committed to block as a fundamental platform for cooperation between developing economies.
