January 19, 2026

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was addressing a rally at the TDP headquarters near Mangalagiri after paying tributes to NT Rama Rao on the occasion of his death anniversary on Sunday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday (January 18) said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi fully supports the development of Andhra Pradesh. He was addressing a gathering after paying tributes to TDP founder and former CM NT Rama Rao on his 30th death anniversary at the party headquarters near Mangalagiri.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that NTR has carved a permanent place in the hearts of the masses by introducing a lot of social schemes and under his stellar leadership, the TDP came to power within just nine months of its formation, a feat that few parties in the country have achieved.

He claimed that NTR defined “good governance” and prioritized development while implementing social welfare programs that set the benchmark at the time. Moreover, NTR brought educated people, intellectuals and marginalized sections into politics by giving them opportunities to participate in elections. It was because of NTR that the people of AP got a distinct identity, Mr. Naidu observed.

The CM said that it was NTR who started old age pensions and that he laid great emphasis on housing for the poor. As such, the coalition government gave away three cents of land to the poor in rural areas and two cents in urban areas for building houses. The Super-6 election promises were a big hit, he noted.

Further, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that NTR abolished Munsab and Karanam systems and TDP led government abolished Land Acquisition Act which would cause lot of problems to actual land owners if implemented. Advanced technologies have been used to make land records tamper-proof.

He reiterated that the state government is committed to complete the Polavaram project by June 2027 and link the rivers flowing through AP.

While the TDP and its allies were glued to the task of ensuring the prosperity of AP, the YSRCP was trying all possible tricks to sabotage the government’s development efforts, including steps taken to make Amaravati a global city, the CM added.

Ministers Payyavula Keshav, K. Atchannaidu and Anagani Satya Prasad, MLC Alapati Rajendra Prasad, MLAs Palla Srinivasa Rao (TDP state president) and Md. Naseer Ahmed and others.
