The Indian National Highway (NHAI) will implement the advanced traffic management system (ATMS) with the monitoring of the safety and simultaneous issuance of Challans to increase the supervision and safety of road traffic on all national motorways with four or more lanes in the next 2-3 years in the next 2-3 years.
Installation of ATM bank Commans was closed in the section 56.46 km of the Dwarka motorway in the capital city, higher NHA officials introduced a group of journalists during a visit to the Dwarka project and control center.
This section is the first project to be carried out as part of a revised ATM policy caused in October 2023, which increases recovery in 14 violation categories such as triple driving, helmet and safety belt, incorrect driving or directional control, highway animals and pedestrian crossings.
“The new policy is aimed at incorporating recovery in addition to the supervision and integration of the police department to release Chalans. It was previously a Nhai end user, now they are coercive agencies,” explained one Nhai official who did not want to be listed.
The new policy allows the local police to generate e-challany through an API-based system (Application Programming Interface programming interface) that allows software applications to talk to each other.
“In our center there is a specific incident on road safety violations. Subsequently, the National Information Center, which is a technological partner of the central government, shifts this information to the police department and is generated by Challan,” the official official called.
26th June IHMCL also wrote the police Delhi to start issuing Chalans on the basis of ATMs installed on the Dwarka highway.
The ATMS system ensures that highways are allowed by technology for “real -time intelligence and real -time incidents” according to the IHMCL basis.
The ATMS system is already implemented for other projects, including Delhi-Agra, Lucknow Ring Road and the upcoming third round road for Nové Delhi, Urban Extension Road 2 (UER-2). The 20,000 km section was equipped with older ATMs before 2023.
On Dwar Expressway, the ATMS system is supported by 110 Pan-use cameras with each camera every 1 km for real-time monitoring, which is also equipped with basic AI intelligence to detect accidents and collapse. There are also 15 detection and enforcement systems Video Incident (Vides) or Gantriech camera systems with each such system deployed at 10 km, capable of detecting 14 types of violations with a high level of accuracy and connected to anything and police departments. Vides also allows vehicles counting and classification for traffic data monitoring. There are also six acute speed displays at an intervals of 20 km on the LED screens to use radar detection to warn road users if they approach the upper speed limit and serve as calming measures. Ten ten ten variable records for sending messages or screen to improve the driver’s awareness were also installed for real -time updates.
