Five police officers were injured after the crowd attacked the Dandkhora police station in the Bihar’s Katihar district, the officials said on Saturday (April 26, 2025).
In an interview with PTI Katihar SP VAIBHAV Sharma said: “The incident occurred when a group of people attacked the Dandkhora police station on Friday and Saturday nights with the aim of liberating a person arrested in connection with violations of the law.
“Five police officers were injured in the incident.” He added that the police fired in self -defense to distract the crowd. “The crowd could not free the arrested person from the police lock,” he added.
Five people were arrested in connection with the attack, said sp. The police injured were transported to the nearest government hospital, where their condition is reportedly of danger.
The police registered the case and investigated the matter.
The sale and consumption of alcohol was banned by the government of Nitish Kumar in April 2016.
