The designated constant reduction in the number of women who die during childbirth was further reduced by five points from 63 to live births in 2019-21 to 58 in 2020-22.
However, according to the latest registration bulletin for 2020–22 for the MMR, the 13th June of the issued CEO of the registrar issued by the General Registrar is the MMR Karnataka remains the highest of the five southern states.

MRD Karnataka has been declining since 2016. In 2016–18–19 in the period 2017–19, during the period before Covid-19, it decreased by nine points from 92 to Lakh. In 2014–16 the state MMR was 108 and in 2015–17 it decreased to 97.
SDG Target Met
Although the decline rate is less than half of what was achieved between 2018 and 2020-when the MRD has decreased by 14 points from 83 to Lakh live birth from 2017–18 to 69 in 2018-2020-Karnataka is one of the eight states in the country that achieves sustainable development (SDG).
The United Nations organized the SDG to reach 70 MRR 70 by 2030. The MRD is an important indicator that defines the public health of the state. It determines the progress achieved by states to save women’s lives during pregnancy, childbirth and lactation.
The lowest MMR in keral
According to the latest SRS data, Kerala recorded the lowest MMR in the country for 18 live births. Followed by Kerala Maharashtra (36 on Lakh Live Born), Tamil Nadu (38), Andhra Pradesh (47), Telangana and Jharkhand (each 50) and Gujarat (55). At 58 Lakh birth, Karnataka is born in the eighth position in the ground.
Madhya Pradesh has the highest MMR at 159 lively lakhs, which records a 16-point drop from 175 to live birth in 2019-21.
While Assam recorded the highest decrease in the MMR by 42 points, Haryan, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan followed 17, 16 and 15 points. A total of six countries have shown an increase in the MMR, with a highest increase of five points in Telangana.
“We are working on further improving our services to bring mothers’ deaths that can be preceded by mothers in the next three years,” Rajkumar.
