The decision was made after the franchise was not able to raise its first points of the season after playing five games in the season 2025. Klasen decided to retreat from the captain to focus more on his launch, and the leadership of the duties were handed over to Zimbabwe Sikandar Raza for the rest of the season.
This is the moment of reflection and restoration for Seattle Orcas. For the team it was a difficult run of AS that had to be made some difficult decisions. We are grateful to Matthew for his determination and professionalism over his time with us and wish him the best in his future efforts, “Hemant Dua, CEO of Seattle Orcas, shared a statement.
“We respect Heinrich’s decision to voluntarily resign as a captain to focus on his launch. This reflects his character and team thinking. Sikandar was our unanimous election as soon as we heard from Klanssen about his decision.
