Ernakulam MLA Vinod was looking for the intervention of the main minister to alleviate the concerns of the inhabitants of housing complexes located near the channels of Thevara-Perrandoor and Edappally, who were asked to set up a reasonable wastewater treatment facility within seven days.
The State Electric Council of Keral (KSEB) issued apartment owners notification of the establishment of equipment before the deadline and failed that the power supply will be disconnected.
KSEB issued a notice of 71 housing complexes based on the Council Directive for Control in Kerala (PCB) under Section 33a of the Water Act (prevention and control of pollution) of 1974 and the Environmental Act (protection) of 1986. by violence.
Mr. Vinod pointed out that the week was too short to ensure compliance with the PCB. He claimed that the board of directors lacked a list of recognized agencies capable of setting up wastewater treatment plants (STP). Some housing complexes that received notifications last month launched steps to install the race. However, it may take up to 12 months to complete the work, he said on Friday (August 1) in communication.
He added that the standards concerning the STP were not predominant at the time of the construction of housing complexes. The owners bought apartments, sure that Kochi Corporation issued a certificate of occupancy. He said that stp should be installed. However, the authorities should provide sufficient time to install them and withhold their step to disconnect the power supply to the units, he said.
