Aland Mla and Vice -Chairman of the State Commission for Policy and Planning Karnataka Patil on Thursday celebrated the day of an international worker in connection to MGNGA staff involved in the Dhannur Lake excavator in Aland Taluk.
Hundreds of workers involved in the Mahatma Gandhi (MGNEGA) guarantee warranty in the Mahatma Gandhi (MGNGA) rural employment were attended by a short pause from their work at the workplace at the workplace.
At his address Mr. Patil raised concerns about the growing alcohol consumption in rural areas and described it as a growing social crisis. “It is unfortunate that the liqueur is more accessible in distant villages than safe drinking water,” he said.
“Daily wage workers often spend a large part of their earnings for alcohol and push their families into deeper distress. Women are disproportionately influenced and demanded to end this threat. At least half of the Gram Panchayats are women,” he said.
“They should promote an agenda of disabling alcohol in their gram jurisdiction. If the Gram Panchayats resolution is not working, you have to come to the streets and I will join you,” he said.
Patil, which pointed to 45,000 GBP Crore in annual income earned by the state government through the consumer department, said that cause damage to individuals and societies in the name of income generation is a sin.
“It is morally non -boring to benefit from a substance that causes damage to public health. The ban in one state is ineffective. We need a nationwide ban,” he said, calling on the Union’s government to take a courageous, nationwide attitude to the ban.
Mr. Patil also took the opportunity to emphasize the non -payment of MGNGA wages and accused the Union’s government for retention.
“It is unacceptable that workers are not paid for three months. Gruha Lakshmi scheme, according to which the state provides every female head of the household of 2,000 GBP per month, provided some relief, but the center must free MGNGAs without delay,” he said.
He appreciated the local Taluk officials Panchayat for MGNGA projects with the needs of the agricultural community and noted that Aland is the only constituency in a state that ensured approval of 472 open wells on agricultural land for irrigation. A proposal for another 378 wells is considered.
“Half, which have already been dug, hit groundwater. The others are expected to fill in the monsoon. This initiative not only helps irrigation, but also contributes to the recharge of groundwater. Plans to build control capacity across several watercourses in the water supply in horizontal effort are also underway.”
The event was attended by President of Gram Panchayat Hasin Bai, executive engineer Taluk Panchayat Manappa Kathtimani, Congress leader Bhimashankar Patil, social worker Alibaba and other local representatives.
