Up to 25 Bharatiya Janata’s legislators of Manipur, led by former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, who expected that after arriving in Delhi at the beginning of this week, the audience with the Minister of Interior Amit Shah met with BJP State.
The MLA group told Mr. Patra that there was no “infighting” in BJP and that the Ministry of the Interior (MHA) should cancel the President’s government and restore the popular government. The meeting took place in the manipure of Bhavan in Delhi.
The manipur was subjected to the President’s government on February 13 and the Assembly has been held under the suspended animation since then. The ethnic violence between Kuki-Zo and the Meitei community broke out in the state of May 3, 2023, which claimed the lives of about 250 people and displaced approximately 60,000 people.
Mla landed in Delhi 4 and 5 October. Bl Santhosh, the National Secretary General (organization) of BJP, is expected on Friday.
CITES disconnects
One of the MLA, who attended a meeting with Mr. Platra, said on condition of anonymity: “We told Mr. Patra that the government should be created first because people were looking for answers of elected representatives.
The MLA added that although the law and order have improved significantly, and since the presidential rule was imposed, there has been no major incidents of violence: “They are bureaucrats who call shots without advising public representatives.”
Asked if Mr. Shah agreed to their meeting, another MLA said: “We have never been looking for a meeting with him. We just wanted to say that there was a consensus between the government formation between BJP, when we get other government forces.
There are 37 MLA BJPs, seven of which of them from the Kuki-Zo community in the 60-member manipur assembly, which currently has a power of 59 when one member died at the beginning of this year. Kuki-zo MLA is not part of this group and did not participate in Wednesday meetings. Six Mla comes from the National People’s Party (NPP), five MLAs come from the front of the National People and one Mla comes from Janata Dal (U) – all three are part of the NDA at the national level.
The first above-mentioned MLA said: “We were told that government formations could not take place until all communities are connected. We ensure that Kuki-Zo is there at the next meeting.
