
Against the backdrop of the ongoing military conflict between the US-Israel alliance and Iran in West Asia, which is spreading across the Persian Gulf region, MK Raghavan, MP, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to intervene immediately to ensure the safety of Indian expatriates.
Airspace closures and flight service disruptions have left thousands of passengers stranded and stranded. The crisis, which erupted during the holy month of Ramzan, has severely affected the expatriate community, especially thousands of Keralites, Mr. Raghavan said.
In his letter, the MP expressed serious concerns about the safety of nearly nine million Indian expatriates living in West Asian countries, of whom about six million are Keralites. He urged the Union Government to take urgent measures to ensure their safety and complete all necessary preparations on a war footing for the safe evacuation of Indians if the conflict intensified.
The Kozhikode MP further suggested that India use its strong diplomatic ties with the United States, Israel and West Asian countries to help restore peace in the region by playing the role of mediator.
