With the president and the main Minister DMK MK Stalin recently visited the house of his older brother MK Alagiri in Madurai after more than ten years, the supporters of the last asked the leaders to read them in the party.
Mr. Alagiri, a former machine Madurai and the Minister of Trade unions, was excluded by his father M. Karunanidhi more than 10 years ago after a family dispute. His supporters were also shown the door. Now, after a recent meeting between the brothers, the window sees opportunities to revive their political career.
Informed sources said Hindu that when Mr. Stalin called on Mr. Alagiri during his visit to Madurai in connection with the meeting of the party’s general board, the main minister asked to read his supporters. “I don’t ask for myself. Let your supporters reconnect,” Mr. Alagiri said, the sources said.
Some of the supporters, including Mannan, Mubarak and Gopinath, have already submitted an apology to the DMK High Command and searched for their re -entry into the party. “We are waiting for a call. It may happen soon. The party will be further reinforced in the south,” the supporter said.
Mr. Stalin learned to examine the application. “No decision has been taken yet,” the source said.
