The Kerala High Court on Friday reserved its verdict in a bail plea filed by Murari Babu, a former administrative officer of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), in a case related to the alleged misappropriation of gold from the Sabarimala temple.
Mr. Babu is the second accused in the case.
While hearing the case, Justice A. Badharudeen orally sought the minutes of the board meeting where it was decided that the gilded/plated coverings in question should be handed over to businessman and prime accused Unnikrishnan Potti.
This was needed to find out who all was responsible for the decision, the court said and directed that the investigation of the case be conducted carefully and the role of TDB officials be ascertained.
He also questioned whether there was a need for further guardianship of Mr. Baba. The prosecution justified the need for his detention to open the device using face-id.
