Mirra Andreeva lifts French Open trophy twice in hilarious prank: Video

Fresh from winning her first French Open title, Mirra Andreeva gave fans a light-hearted moment during the post-match celebrations at Roland Garros. The nineteen-year-old had just defeated Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 to lift her first Grand Slam trophy when she was asked to pose with the Roland Garros trophy for photographers.

However, in her excitement, Andreeva accidentally picked up the trophy in the wrong place. Unaware of the mix-up, the Russian happily held the trophy in the air before being informed by officials that a photo opportunity was to take place on a slightly elevated platform nearby.

French Open Women’s Singles Final Update

The surprised reaction of the teenager caused smiles from those around her. Realizing her mistake, she quickly got to the right spot and lifted the trophy again, this time for the waiting photographers. It was a charming and funny moment that perfectly captured the joy and innocence of a teenager celebrating the biggest success of her career.

MIRRA ANDREEVA THANKS TO COACH, PARENTS

After her historic triumph, Andreeva expressed gratitude to her team for constantly pushing her to improve, with special praise for dedicated coach Conchita Martnez for her guidance and experience. The teenager also thanked her parents and acknowledged their unwavering support and belief in her throughout her remarkable journey.

“Thanks to my team. I can be a tough cookie sometimes. Some days I’m quite hard to deal with. Thank you so much for pushing me to the limit and making me work even when I don’t want to. You always push me to be better,” said Andreeva.

“Special thanks to Conchita for sharing her experience and giving me so much advice. I won’t thank each of you individually because I think it would take too long, but thank you to all my team members who support me.”

“I would also like to give a special thanks to my parents for always supporting me and believing in me. My dad is currently watching TV. Thank you so much for always being there for me and standing by me no matter what,” Andreeva added.

HOW ANDREEVA GOT A BETTER CHWALINSK

Mirra Andreeva showed her class and poise to overcome Maja Chwalinska in straight sets to win her first French Open title. The opening set was far from straightforward, with both players struggling to hold serve as nerves took over.

Chwalinska repeatedly disrupted Andreev’s rhythm with high, looping shots and long rallies, but the Russian gradually settled into the contest. After the break at 3-3, Andreeva tightened her game, reduced her errors and closed out the set dominantly.

In the second set, Andreeva really separated herself from her opponent.

She secured an early break and never allowed Chwalinska to develop any momentum. The break came when the Polish qualifier was 40-0 up on serve, but Andreeva saved all three points before breaking again. From there, Russia dictated play from the baseline, moving effortlessly and forcing mistakes from Chwalinska.

Although the Pole briefly delayed the inevitable by winning two games late on, Andreeva finished hard and broke serve for the seventh and final time to seal a commanding victory on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
