Twenty-nine passengers in a private bus had a miraculous escape after it was gutted by fire at Thalagasi Palli cross in Garladinne mandal of Anantapur district in the wee hours of Friday. According to Garladinne police, the fire started after a tire burst and flames quickly spread through the vehicle. The driver immediately swerved to the left and parked the bus safely, alerting the passengers. They managed to evacuate using the emergency exit and breaking the windows. The bus, which was on its way to Raichur via Bengaluru, was reduced to ashes within minutes before the fire brigade reached the spot.
