US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem praised her law enforcement department’s efforts in Minneapolis on Monday (Jan 19), claiming more than 10,000 “criminal illegal aliens” have been arrested in recent weeks.
Noem made the announcement in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Massive arrests, a victory for public safety
Noem said, “PEACE AND PUBLIC SAFETY IN MINNEAPOLIS! We have arrested over 10,000 criminal illegal aliens who have been killing Americans, harming children and reigning terror in Minneapolis because Tim Walz and Jacob Frey refuse to protect their own people and protect criminals instead,” her post read.
She added that in the past six weeks alone, DHS law enforcement has apprehended “3,000 illegal aliens, including vicious murderers, rapists, child pedophiles, and incredibly dangerous individuals,” calling it a “HUGE victory for public safety.”
Claims of widespread fraud
Noem also claimed that there was serious financial wrongdoing in the city, saying, “There is MASSIVE fraud in Minneapolis, at least $19 billion and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Our Homeland Security investigators are on the ground in Minneapolis conducting an extensive investigation to bring justice to the American people who were robbed blind.”
Make the call to keep America safe
She ended her post with an encouraging message: “MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN.”
Noah’s post comes amid ongoing tensions over immigration enforcement in Minneapolis. City officials, including Gov. Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, have previously emphasized local approaches to law enforcement and immigration compliance, at odds with federal initiatives.
