The Group of Ministers (GoM) constituted for the successful conduct of birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements for the event with District Collector A. Syam Prasad and members of Sri Sathya Sai Trust at Sai Aramam in Puttaparthi.
The GoM, headed by district in-charge minister Anagani Satyaprasad, includes Satya Kumar Yadav, N. Savitha and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy as members. Ministers reviewed security, accommodation, transport and medical arrangements in preparation for the celebrations.
Mr. Satyaprasad said that all necessary steps should be taken to ensure that the visiting devotees do not face any inconvenience and that the celebrations reflect divinity and devotion. “As there is a possibility of heavy participation of devotees, special attention needs to be paid to traffic management, sanitation, street lighting and drinking water facilities in Puttaparthi,” he said and urged the officials to work in close coordination.
Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav reviewed the medical and health arrangements and requested the District Health Officers to provide adequate medical facilities for the devotees especially the elderly, women and children. He ordered that ambulances, rescue teams and medical camps be deployed round the clock along main roads, guesthouses and other key places in Puttaparthi.
Ms. Savitha stressed the need for a concrete plan of action for the celebrations to be held from November 17 to 23 as several dignitaries are expected to visit Puttaparthi during the period.
Collector Syam Prasad gave a PowerPoint presentation on the measures taken by the administration, including airport and helipad preparations, traffic and parking management, medical camps, temporary toilets, dustbins and other facilities.
