
Minister of Health, Medical Education and Family Care Satya Kumar Yadav approved the construction of government buildings for 30 urban primary health centers (UPHC), which currently operate from rented premises.
According to official release from the Ministry on Tuesday, August 12, the state is to cost a total of 560 UPHCs. Of these, 293 operate from their own buildings and 175 from municipal buildings. The remaining 92 centers lacks permanent facilities-by construction, which is already underway for 62 of them, it is expected that it will be completed by the end of the year.
After the UPHC accommodation meeting with the Minister’s officials, the Minister approved the construction of permanent government buildings for the remaining 30 UPHC in 18 districts, for the price of 1 GBP Crore for the building.
Uphcs in Visakhapatnam, Anantapore, Eluru, Vijayawada and Guntur are among the ones that will soon have their own reserved government buildings.
