
When schools across Kerala were prepared for re -opening for the academic year 2025–26 2 June, General Minister of Education V. Sivankutty on Sunday convened a meeting with district collectors, representatives of local self -governing institutions and higher officials to review the readiness.
The meeting focused on comprehensive security measures, preparedness for infrastructure and the well -being of students.
The government ordered a certificate of fitness for all school buildings, including those operating in rented premises. Instructions were provided for the safe building zones of barricades in the school. All dangerous elements, including trees, electrical installations and abandoned equipment, will also be addressed.
Commissions to remove campaign materials, flags, banners and accumulation from school mixing in coordination with the relevant local authorities were also issued. Warning signs and safety boards for transport, especially near roads and railway crossings, must be installed.
Special attention is paid to hygiene and hygiene. The Association of Parents-Purgers (PTA) will lead a comprehensive cleaning unit before opening the school. Sources of drinking water, kitchens and toilets will be thoroughly disinfected.
Noon meals will be provided from the first day and steps will be taken to ensure that all chefs have valid medical cards.
Shops near schools will be carefully monitored to prevent the sale of narcotic substances. School authorities also carry out checks to ensure that students do not have any forbidden courses. At the school level, a commission for awareness is also formed. If the child does not reach their classrooms at a certain time after the classroom, the parents will be informed by the school management.
Schools were instructed to ensure speed circuit breakers near schools. Safe crossing systems must also be introduced on railway lines near educational institutions. The department of motor vehicles will verify the fitness of school transport vehicles. For drivers and other vehicle employees, the police will also be mandatory for the collection of the police.
Training in disasters will be provided to employees and students. False exercise, including various and tribal children, will be performed. All schools are expected to prepare a comprehensive security plan or disaster management.
