Interior Minister Vangalapudi ordered officials of different departments to remain vigilant with regard to the upcoming cyclone and take all the necessary measures to prevent life loss.
On Friday, Mrs. Anitha visited the State Emergency Operations Center in the Office of the State Authority for the Catastrophe administration Andhra Pradesh (APSDMA) and reviewed the trajectory of cyclone, trends of precipitation and flood situation in various districts. The review was carried out together with the CEO of APSDMA Prakhar Jain, CEO. Venkata Deepak and other higher officials.
On this occasion, the Minister of the Interior said that it is expected to move the cyclone over the next 24 hours towards Odish, West Bengals and Jharkhand. The coastal Andhra Pradesh will probably get heavy rainfall, while mild showers are predicted in the rest of the state. She urged the fishermen to embark on the sea in the next 72 hours and recommend the public to avoid staying under trees, electric poles and in old or damaged buildings. Meanwhile, Sri Durga Mallesware Swamyvarla Officers closed Ghat Road to Indrakeeladri on Friday due to continuous precipitation in the last two days. Police and foundation employees set up patrols and limit the movement of the vehicle on the road as preventive measures.
