He was developing a decision of the State Government on the issue of a notice of the demonstration of the demonstration department at the Government Faculty of Medicine, Thiruvananthapuram, looking for an explanation for its open criticism of systemic issues affecting patient care in the Faculty of Medicine on Friday.
Its statement was followed by widespread speculation that the government was brutally chasing Haris Chirakkal, the head of urology, for daring to speak the truth about the sad state of affairs at the health faculties.
Minister of Health Veen George, while talking to Mediaperons, said the notice of the cause of Dr. Chirakkal was just a routine matter of the procedure and was not intended as a vengeful action specifically against him.
Reason Memo
The memorandum was published as a report of the expert committee that the government set up to focus on systemic failures on the medical faculties of the Dr. Chirakkal, clearly emphasized that the doctor had violated the rules of government employees in 1960 in broadcasting his complaints in social media, she said.
However, Mrs. George said that experts, among other things, have also discovered “theft” or “disappearance” of equipment or accessories from the urology department, which have not yet been reported to the authorities.
She said that the “missing” equipment/accessories were part of the equipment purchased by the MP’s Local Area Development Fund in the amount of 20 Lakh and that the Committee proposed a detailed examination of the Ministry of “theft”.
Dr. However, Chirakkal, who met Mediaperonsons in the evening, denied that any equipment/accessories disappeared in the Urology Department and that as the head of the department, the department had disappeared fully.
Expresses doubts
He said that he was not dedicated to the report of the expert committee and expressed doubts that the committee could have done such a discovery because the device listed in the report is inside the operating theater where there was no member of the committee.
Welcomed any investigation that the ministry or government can initiate “missing” equipment
Dr. Chirakkal reiterated that the announcement of the cause was a matter of routine and that it was expected to only explain why he broadcast his complaints on social media. He added that he did not think that the government focused on him in any way that any desperate action would be designed against him.
