The Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh will perform an official visit to Australia at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles from 9 to October 10.
According to the Ministry of Defense, a visit is at a significant moment when India and Australia have been referred to for five years of their complex strategic partnership (CSP). It will also be the first visit to the Indian Defense Minister to Australia under the current government since 2014.
The highlight of Mr. Singh’s visit will be bilateral interviews with his Australian counterpart, aimed at strengthening defense cooperation and exploring new ways of cooperation. He will also chair a business round table in Sydney, who will be attended by the leader of both nations and calls on other Australian national leaders, added Mod.
Three agreements
During the visit, three agreements will be signed to strengthen cooperation in information sharing, maritime domain and joint activities. Defense ties between the two countries are constantly deepening and include military exchanges, high -level visits, educational programs, boat visits and joint exercises, she said.
India and Australia increased their relationship from the strategic partnership in 2009 to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2020. Both nations share a strong foundation of common values-polralistic democracy in Westminster, community tradition and growing economic engagement.
Long -term links to people, the presence of Indian students at Australian universities and the pulsating tourism and sports ties continue to strengthen permanent friendship between the two countries.
Mr. Marles last visited India in June 2025 when he met his counterpart Rajnath Singh and called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
