Minister Maharashtra Chandrakant Patil appealed to the leader of Maratha Manoj Jarange’s quota to lead discussion with the government, because the latter remained firmly in the protest in Mumbai asking reservations for people belonging to the Maratha community.
Since August 29, Mr. Jarange demanded a protest in Azad Maidan in southern Mumbai and demanded a reservation for the Marath community in the category of other classes (OVC). His demand was faced by the opposition of the group of municipalities.
“Jarange should sit over the table with a pen with pen and paper and discuss the problems related to the Maratha reservation rather than resort to new protests and hunger strikes,” said Mr. Patil in Sangli. “While everyone has the right to protest in a legal way, any agitation that bursts of this journey to act to act,” he added.
Before the planned demonstration, the state government reconstructed the sub -cabinet sub -cabinet to reserve Maratha. Minister Radhakrishn Vikhe Patil will serve as chairman of the committee, who will also have Mr. Chandrakant Patil as one of the members of the committee. The Committee was entrusted with the coordination of administrative and legal aspects and the study of demand for the reservations of Maratha, the officials said on Friday. Part of her work will be consulted by the protesters, streamline the process of issuing a community certificate and reviewing the implementation of social care programs for community.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chandrakant Patil said that many people received Kunbi Caste certificates when he was chairman of the committee. “How long should one person do the same job?” He added.
During the possession of the main Minister Ekatha Shinde, the state launched a campaign to monitor Kunbi records, allowing Marathas to take advantage of the OBC.
Last year, the government announced a 10% reservation for the Maratha community. However, the decision was questioned at the Supreme Court in Mumbai, where hearing is taking place.
