The Minister of Sports and Youth Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy said that the NDA government committed itself to revive the sports sector, which, as claimed, was “tired fraud and incorrect during the YSR Congress register”.
He spoke after the opening of the Amaravati Championship 2025 inauguration, a sporting meeting at the State level, which took place on Sunday at the Tarakarama Stadium SV University in Tirupati. Among the present were the chairman of the sports authority Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) A. Ravi Naida, CEO of PS Girisha, chairman of this C. Divative Reddy, District Collector S. Venkateswar and actor Nara Rohith.
The Minister, who remembered the initiatives under the main Minister TDP N. Chandrababa Naida, emphasized the development of sports infrastructure and hosting of prestigious national events in undue Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, he claimed that the sector was interrupted during the holding of YSRCP.
Mr. Ramprasad Reddy announced that 30 acre sports center will be developed in Tirupati. He also said that 450 contributions under the sports quota will be filled with the upcoming 16,000 recruitment of teachers.
President Saap Ravi Naida explained the change in the venue and said that the championship originally planned for Vijayawad or Visakhapatnam was moved to Tirupati due to better accommodation facilities for participants.
According to SAAP MD PS Girisha, about 1300 athletes from various zones competed in 10 categories. The District Collector Venkateswar said the events would include archery, weightlifting, boxing, athletics, volleyball, basketball, Kabaddi, hockey, kho and the Badminton shuttle.
The chairman of Yadava Corporation G. Narasimha Yadav, Chairman of Handicrafts Corporation Pasupuleti Hariprasad, international hockey player E. Rajani and district sports director O. Sasidhar were also present.
