Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav has expressed serious displeasure over the alleged neglect of operation of the Sri Rami Reddy Project sump well, which supplies drinking water to Uravakonda.

During a surprise inspection of the suction well on Sunday evening (July 5, 2026), the minister found the engines switched off and the absence of officials and workers on site. He decried the negligence of water supply to Uravakonda, despite the availability of water in the dam.

Speaking to District Collector O. Anand over phone, Mr. Keshav expressed strong displeasure at the careless attitude of the operation and maintenance officials. He directed him to take appropriate action against the officials concerned. He made it clear that such laxity regarding the supply of drinking water will not be tolerated and that those responsible should bear the appropriate consequences.
