KARIMNAGAR
Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay expressed displeasure over the “political state of affairs” in the Karimnagar civic body, particularly with the functioning of the public health department. Huge sums of money spent on underground sewers and other civil works over the years have literally gone down the drain, he said.
He was presiding over the meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) held at the Karimnagar Collectorate on Wednesday.
Citing the grievances of the city residents on their civic grievances, he asked the Karimnagar Municipal Commissioner to continuously monitor the work started under the second phase of the Centre’s flagship urban development plan – AMRUT.
Expressing concern over the delay in implementation of drinking water improvement works in Karimnagar and Sircilla civic bodies, he wanted the officials to focus on speedy completion of the works by the end of the year.
During the review meeting, he reviewed the progress of development work and implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes.
