Arsenal Manager Mikel Artet insisted that his party was the best team in the Champions League this season, even after their semifinals in the hands of the Paris Saint-Germain.
The shooters who participated in 1-0 from the first stage have traveled to Parc des Princes, who needed a comeback to achieve their first Champions League finals since 2006. The late goal of Bukayo jacket reduced the deficit, but it was not enough because the French champions sealed the aggregated victory 3-1 to achieve the finals.
“We were very close, much closer than the result, but unfortunately we are outside,” Arta said.
“I’m very proud of players, 100% I don’t think he was in competition from what I saw, but we’re out.”
“This competition concerns boxes and in both boxes are attackers and goalies and their were the best in both games.”
Artta revealed that the mood in the dressing room after the match was grim, with tears players after defeat. “I’m angry and so angry,” he admitted, frustrated that his party couldn’t turn the tie, even though she created some clear chances.
Asked about the notes of Artta, the manager of PSG Luis Enrique, he answered firmly and said his party fully deserved his place in the finals against Inter Milan.
“Mikel Artta is a great friend, but I disagree at all,” he added. “They played cleverly and got a match for them at the right moment because they played as they wanted, and as they love. But in two legs we scored more than they were, and that’s the most important thing in football.
“Arsenal played a great match and we suffered, but we deserved to get to the finals. They’re a great team, but I repeat, scored more goals, played in a great way in the first leg and the second half of the second leg was a different match and we could score even more goals.”
