Boxing legend Mike Tyson admitted that he once experimented with Fentanyl during the late 90s and called it a short but difficult experience.
“It was a painkiller and I used it to tighten my fingers,” Tyson said on a podcast Katie Miller.
The effects of the drug were intense, he said.
“It was like a heroin-as we worn and remove the band, starting to download, throwing, just as if you were on heroin,” Tyson recalled.
Tyson eventually stopped using Fentanyl because of legal risks.
“It was illegal if it was (was) caught in my bloodstream. It was a narcotic, my friend told me. It was a brand new. I said to my friend: could I use it?” No one has ever heard of it, ”he explained.
Marijuana attorney for athletes
When thinking about his past, Tyson was again a strong reason for the use of marijuana, especially in sports.
“It’s not a drug. It’s a medicine,” he said, blasting his criminalization. “Politicians are afraid of small flowers.”
Tyson argued that cannabis offers athletes real benefits and helps them cope with pain and stress.
“Athletes play better when they smoke,” he said. “I wish I had to smoke during my combat days.”
Requires a change in policy
The former heavy weight champion also urged the federal event to reclass the marijuana and said that he soon expected progress.
“I expect good news about this problem,” Tyson said.
