Pakistani coach of white balls Mike Hesson rejected the rumors that he suggested Babar to Azam to take the goals to regain his place in the national team T20i.
30 -year -old babar was omitted from the Pakistani group for the upcoming T20i series against Bangladesh later this month.
After the news that Hesson recommended Babar’s goals, several former players – including Rashid Latif, Basit Ali, Mohsin Khan, Moin Khan and Sikander Bakht – expressed criticism.
“They are very unfair with Babar (Mohammad) Rizwn and Shaheen (Afridi), but I can assure you that these three will return soon,” Basit said.
Hesson, however, explained that such an interview did not occur and reaffirmed that if Babar returned to the T20i side, it would be like an opener.
“There was no discussion with Babar, where I suggested to keep the goals. He never held his goals in his entire career and suggests to keep the goals. This is not a way to treat the former captain and senior,” Hesson told reporters.
Hesson also denied the news that he said that he told the players that anyone who was not looking for a strike over 150 would be released from the team. He explained that there was no such interviews. He stressed, however, that Pakistani dough must improve certain aspects of their game to meet the requirements of the modern T20 cricket.
“I also did not tell the players that if they wanted to keep their seats in the team, they had to bat in a blow over 150. We are working on some things in this direction,” Hesson added.
He also said that he is currently working closely with selectors on the development of the young T20 based on a specific approach suitable for format.
“We are looking at players who are ready to float in the order of batting and perform several roles, but that does not mean there will be no space for specialized players,” Hesson added.
The T20i Pakistan series against Bangladesh begins 20 July and all the matches to be held at the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
