Migrant children in Ernakulam receive training in Madhubani painting

31 students enrolled in five schools under Ernakulam district administration’s ‘Roshni’ project for educational upliftment of migrant children are undergoing a 10-day training program in Madhubani painting tradition here.
The sessions are conducted by Madhubani artistes, including Chandrakant Kumar Bari and Lalita Dutta from Bihar, at the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School in Kunnumpuram near Edappally. The goal of the program is to impart professional skills to students along with their studies, according to the release.
The mentor of the program is Daraksha Parveen, a native of Bihar and one of the first beneficiaries of the Roshni project. Hrithik Ranjan, Assistant Collector, Ernakulam, launched the program on Monday. The training will end on October 14.
