The company announced Tuesday that Microsoft is launching a local secondary application for Windows. Introduces testers registered in Windows Insider programs, which replaces the Progressive Web Application (PWA) that has been available to date. According to Microsoft, a native secondary box for Windows applications will be provided as an update. It is worth noting that the company recently introduced several features of Copilot, such as Copilot Vision and AI-Power Recell, both available in previews.

In a blog post, Microsoft details the capabilities of the new Native Copilot application. It provides a new Quick View feature that allows users to access artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots by using keyboard shortcuts on Windows 11 and 11 PCs. They can turn on or off the quick view by pressing down alt + spacealthough it can also be moved or resized. The company said users can flip the main and secondary application window by pressing the icon in the upper left corner of the Quick View window.
According to Microsoft, this shortcut uses the registerHotkey function. It points out that many applications, including Copilot, use this shortcut. So, using the application to start for the first time on the PC or run in the background, will be called when used alt + space Keyboard shortcuts.
Additionally, users with PCs with dedicated secondary box keys can use it to quickly add AI chatbots to the screen. According to the company, it will explore other options related to the application’s keyboard shortcuts in the future.
Microsoft further stated that its native side app is being launched on the Inside Channel via the Microsoft Store. It improves the application version to 1.24112.123.0 and later. However, its launch is gradual, so not all Windows insiders can see it in time. The wider visibility can take several days.
